  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons:

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

The following issues have been resolved where possible, however, a limited number of pages may still be affected.

Success criteria failed: WCAG 2.4.4 (Level A) Link Purpose (In Context).
Issue: Some instances of link text combined with programmatically determined link context do not identify the purpose of the links.

Success criteria failed: WCAG 2.4.3 (Level A) Focus Order.
Issue: Keyboard focus is directed to the map before the main content and descriptive information on resource catalogue pages, resulting in a focus sequence that does not follow a logical or meaningful order. This can cause users to encounter a complex interactive element before understanding the context or purpose of the page.

Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

Online maps and mapping services, both static and interactive, are not accessible. These components are classified as exempt from meeting the accessibility regulations.

What we are doing to improve accessibility

This website is a BETA version of an upgraded DataMapWales service. We are releasing new features and updates on a regular basis and testing each release for accessibility. We routinely review the results of this testing and aim to fix any accessibility issues identified as part of the next release cycle. As the BETA continues, we will keep improving the accessibility of the service based on testing, standards updates, and user feedback.
